pH & Alkalinity Reducer 7kg
(Dry Acid)

REDUCES HIGH pH AND HIGH ALKALINITY.

According to the method of dosing, Fi-Clor pH & Alkalinity Reducer (Dry Acid)
will lower either the pH or the total alkalinity in swimming pool water. High pH
can result in cloudy water and contribute to scale formation. The effectiveness of
chlorine based sanitisers will also be reduced. High alkalinity will make it difficult
to lower the pH as any correcting chemicals will be taken up by the buffering
action of the alkalinity.

DO NOT MIX WITH OTHER PRODUCTS.
DO NOT DISSOLVE BEFORE USE.
Instructions

1 Take a pH reading using your test kit or test strips. You will need to lower the pH if the reading is
above 7.6.

2 Dose a maximum of 500g of Fi-Clor pH & Alkalinity Reducer in the pool water at any one time.

3 With the filtration system running, distribute evenly around the pool, avoiding the skimmers.

4 Continue filtration and re-test after 4 hours. If the pH is still high, repeat the dose.

To reduce total alkalinity

a Take a total alkalinity reading using a test kit or test strips. If the reading is above 150mg/l (ppm),
dose 1kg of the product in increments, in a small area at the deep end of the pool. This should be
carried out with the filtration running and avoiding the skimmers. Each application will reduce the
alkalinity by approx. 10 – 20mg/l (ppm).

b Re-test after 24 hours. If the total alkalinity is still high, repeat the
dose until total alkalinity falls below 150mg/l (ppm).

Precautions – Never mix in their solid state, or in
concentrated solution, Fi-Clor BLUE and RED label products

> Never mix chemicals except by dosing into the pool
separately and at different times.

the water when bathers are in the pool.

> Store in a cool,
dry, well ventilated, secure place away from oxidising
and reducing agents; petrol, oil, solvents and organic
materials; ammonia, fertiliser and nitrogen compounds;
strong acids and alkalis.

> Avoid direct contact with pool
chemicals. Should there be skin contact with chemicals,
wash thoroughly. |
